Butterfly birthday

This will be a birthday card, and I know the picture is pretty bad and the paper doesn't really look neat, but in real life it is. The top butterfly is heat embossed, there are 3 layers of the butterfly in total.

Supplies used:

Colorbox pigment ink (silver),

Clear embossing powder,

Quickutz 4x4 butterfly

Quickutz frame die (cookiecutter set),

Cheery Lynnn frame die,

Stickles.

Watermelon and colors

Half this plate was my breakfast... yumm...
But when I saw this pic after I posted it on facebook, I thought "hm, pretty colors... maybe I can make a card with those colors..."
So if I succeed, i'll post that pic later on here.

Why I haven't blogged in a while...

I'm very sorry I've been "gone" for so long, but many medical things are going on here, and that's keeping me very busy at the moment. The waiting the hardest part, but well, if  you wanna know what's going on, you have no choice what so ever.



Plus something is really wrong with my mother again (she had agressive hormonal breastcancer a couple years ago, and some things are not going so well now...
and we're afraid it's back and spread).

I will keep making art and doing my thing, and i'll post as soon as time lets me. And I will be back and try to fill this blog almost daily with my things...
(when the medical stuff gets more stable)

As soon as I have news...

Distressed birthday card

This card is for our nephew Kevin, he became 11 years old today.
He is very into "army" stuff, so this style fits, I thought. How about you??

The "helicopter" is made with my Slice Elite with the "big kids" design card,
Distrezz-it-all.

Slice Elite, wat een pech...

Voor mijn verjaardag heb ik een Slice Elite gekregen, maar ondertussen is nummer 3 terug naar de winkel. Erg balen. Nummer 1 deed ineens niets meer (maakte wel geluid, en er bewogen onderdelen, maar hij sneed niet, en ook wilde hij niet meer "centeren"), nummer 2 kreeg na een korte tijd hetzelfde probleem. Contact gehad met Making Memories en Kars (het Nederlandse distributie centrum voor Making Memories) en de machine ging weer terug, en ik kreeg nummer 3. Deze deed het prima. Tot van de week...ineens deed hij niets meer... Na telefonisch contact te hebben gehad met Kars is me duidelijk geworden dat er een hele zending is geweest met mechanische problemen met oa printplaatje (1 van de 3 laat zomaar ineens los bijv.) enz. En als je zo'n machine hebt, vroeg of laat doet ie het dan ineens niet meer... Dus deze gister weer terug gestuurd naar de winkel waar ik hem heb gekocht... In de hoop dat ik snel weer een nieuwe heb, uit een andere zending...  Ik baal er flink van. Het is toch een flink bedrag dat ervoor is uitgegeven, en dan 4x pakketkosten...

Maar ik hou moed... een soort van...

For Valentine I did an ATC swap with some crafters from the States and Canada. This is what I made... The name for my set was "Love Potion".

My MIL just got a pacemaker, and everything went well,
so when she got back home, I gave her this card.

Sympathy Cards

Yesterday, my aunt died... We are very sad by this news, so I made these cards. The one with the balloons is for her (adult) daughter, the one with the Calla Lilly is made multiple times, for other family members, this is the most subtle one...

My Parents Wedding Anniversary

I made this card for my parents, a few months ago,

for their wedding anniversary...

Fun with Varnish

Just a fun thing I do sometimes with varnish... Give it a try... 


Supplies used: Cheap varnish, a piece of paper with watercolor paint, and a heatgun.

Just drip a bit of the varnish on the paper, how much you want, in the shape you want



While heating it >> stage 1

While heating it >> stage 2

 After the first heating. I like to let it cool, and give it another heat blast, that way
you can change the shapes a bit if you want to

After the second heating. I like it this way (ready to cut out)...
But only a tiny bit of varnish is used here,
when you use some more, or a pattern of drips, you get a complete different result!

This is the way it looks from the side...
The paper is warped, but if you heat from the back
it will straighten a bit, and ofcourse you can just tape it flat.

Ik ben al veel te lang afwezig in blogland, en dat weet ik. Maar op het moment spelen er zoveel medische dingen hier, dat ik het moeilijk vind te bloggen over wat ik maak. Al heb ik wel alle kerstkaarten zelf gemaakt, maar ben ik dan weer vergeten foto's te maken... (ze waren allemaal anders).
